About this Speaker
Janet worked in IT for most of her career of over 40 years, playing all roles from developer through Systems Analyst to Project Manager on projects of all sizes. She worked as a Business Analyst in one of the Big Four banks in South Africa for 11 years, working on major projects. From 2012, she consulted as a BA Coach and Mentor for the same bank.
Although she spent only the last 15 years of her career with the title Business Analyst, she has realised that that was what she was doing all along. She claims to have retired but still doesn’t know how to stop — she continues to enjoy coaching and mentoring.
Janet joined IIBA in 2006 and was active in the local South African chapter between 2007 and 2016. She was the Chapter President from September 2012 to January 2016 and Secretary for the rest of 2016. She received her IIBA CBAP certification in November 2011 and recertified in 2014 and 2017. In July 2012, she joined the writing team for version 3 of A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK Guide). At BA Summit 2018, she presented “Why Model? Not to mention What, When, Where and How”, giving an overview of the most-used models in the BA toolkit.
