Niculie Botes is a business analyst and facilitator who presented a lightning talk at BA Summit 2018 titled “Can We Have Fun Along the Way?” Her talk focused on facilitation as one of the core competencies of a great business analyst, arguing that the definition of facilitation — the process of designing and running a successful meeting — is central to the BA’s daily work.

Niculie shared her experience on what separates a good facilitator from an average one, exploring what it takes to get meaningful outcomes from sessions that often feel like they are stuck in a loop. She believes that when people are having fun at work, their productivity and efficiency increases — and that engaging, interactive sessions are the key to achieving the desired outcome.
