Mandla started his career at the South African Reserve Bank. In 2007, at the age of 21, he was awarded the Employee of the Year award in its Systems and Technology Department. Mandla went on to spend 5 years in various roles at Dimension Data, followed by a stint in Treasury at the First Rand Group. Thereafter he helped drive Agile adoption in the CIB data team at Standard Bank while also building data marts.

Mandla is an experienced Blockchain consultant and startup co-founder. He has deep experience integrating various blockchain platforms as well as smart contracts on permissioned blockchain offerings. He is passionate about leaving a lasting social legacy through his company, The Coding Ground. Mandla holds a Master of Information Technology degree and a BSc Honours in Computer Science, both earned at the University of Pretoria.

At BA Summit 2018, Mandla presented “The Advent of the Distributed Ledger Analyst (DLA)”, exploring the principles of distributed ledger technology and what new skills Business Analysts need in order to add maximum value in this emerging field.
