Sure we need to consider the environment and all other external factors in our business decisions but sustainability goes beyond just saving the trees and reducing air pollution. It is about embedding sustainable thinking into our decision-making and analysis processes. It is about making sure that our efforts are sustainable beyond the final user acceptance. And it is about a whole bunch of other things, all things we think we are doing. Let’s face it, nobody likes to hear that their efforts are not sustainable, especially considering that they have just finished grooming 1000 user stories, or written 10 software specifications, or…., well you get the point. Let’s talk about the less obvious gaps we leave, about practices we can implement to ensure we leave behind deliverables that can be reused, repurposed, and reimagined.
