
Local and international management consulting firms continue to be the preferred business partners when transformational initiatives are being considered and executed by corporate organisations.
The configuration of these firms tends to have a big component that does functions that can be classified as business analysis as they seek to solve business problems. As part of their journey in ensuring that client organisations realise benefits from the engagement, it becomes inevitable that they recommend technology to enable the business strategy.
The above reality usually challenges the internal business analysis capability or competency and there is no singular response. It is my considered view that the two “areas” can live together, and business can enjoy the benefits, however, internal business analysis competency must acquire and master certain skills.
