Driving innovation in the SA minibus taxi industry: the road leading to growth

The minibus taxi industry is the dominant form of public transport in South Africa. However, it is paved with numerous and complex obstacles.

It is at a crossroad where there have been numerous projects to formalise and innovate in the industry. However, these have been scrapped.

In this session, I’ll take the audience through the journey where innovation and business analysis can hopefully bring light to the end of the tunnel.

About the Speaker

During the day, Taariq is a Business Analyst Competency Lead at Ecentric Payment Systems growing Business Analysts (BAs) and delivering on key projects. While during the night (and some days), he is a Senior Business Analysis Lecturer at the Faculty Training Institute (FTI).

With over 15 years of experience performing Business Analysis and leading/managing teams of BAs, he has worked at various companies, domains/industries and in a consulting, contracting and permanent capacity. In addition, he has experience of other roles e.g. lead tester, developer and project manager.

He obtained a BCom. Honours in Information Systems and a BSc. in Business Computing – both at the University of Cape Town(UCT). In addition, he has a BA diploma through FTI and was part of the first batch of delegates to obtain the SA National Certificate in Business Analysis.

He seeks to continually apply his skillset to deliver innovative solutions resulting in business value solving problems/unlocking opportunities and providing leadership in the Business Analysis field.
